G'day all,
Just bought a rear seat out of a sierra to go into my 40 series. To mount it i was thinking of drilling holes into the floor and bacing the underside with another peice flat steel, so that the bolt will travel through the bracket on the seat, through the floor, then through the steel plate.
Can anyone see any problems with this set up?? any ideas, advice would be great

cheers,

Furthermore, would require an engineering plate, and change of registration particulars in QLD....

plate must be 50mm square, rounded edges, thread is a fine metric, spring washers.. grade 8.8 (ithink) bolts... ring your transport dept and find the nearest assessor..

if its a stock 40 floor i would use 50mm angle iron and run it right across the floor under the seat mounts the floors are quite weak in them and tend to crack after a while

if your not planing on getting it engineered then just do it till you think it wont come flying through and wack you in the back of the head in a accident

Just looked at my "engineered" rear seat and obviously only the bear minimum is required in Vic. Small plates around 40x40x3mm. Having said that I would go with what pcman said and use angle

Cheers Dazz

ps I have remounted my seat bolts from underneath with a second nut retaining the bolt so the seat easily removable with crawling under the truck, if that makes sence. also my drawers use the same mountings.
