hi, i would like to change my pajero's tires. 88 model 2.6 L petrol . The original ones are 205-80 R 16. Rims are 6JJ. If I use 235-85 R 16 do I have to do any lifting.

im not good with metric measurements but from what ive heard you can go up to 31s no dramas without any lift but the tyre fits better on a 7 inch rim rather than a 6 inch rim. anything bigger and you will need a lift (most likely a body lift)

I ran 235/85/16 A/Ts on my 89 swb. The only prob i had was rubbing on the rear wheel arch at full articulation. This stopped when i did a 2" lift.

The real problem is lack of power from the 2.6 trying to turn a tyre that is closer to a 32" than a 31".

Time to look for some 5.29 diffs
