I'm only new here so hello to everyone!!

I sort of only half belong here as I'm driving a 87 Ford Courier but it has a 4g54 so I half belong here too.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone knows if the gearbox in a courier would be the same as a Paj/Triton?

Therefore all the same engine swaps etc etc for you guys should be the same for me??

Looking to get some more grunt!!

Thanks and take it easy,

Luke

Hi Luke

Everybody's welcome here - Mitsy driver or not! :D

Isn't the Ford Courier a re-badged Mazda Bravo? Have you tried searching under a different name?

I don't know if the gearbox would be the same unit, but there's a reasonable chance the bolt pattern wont' be radically different between the block in a Courier and the block in a Mitsubishi (although, in our Sigma I believe manual and auto version had different bolt patterns... :? )

I say your chances are good, but I wouldn't guarantee it. I think its worth visiting a wrecking yard to make some measurements.

Does that help?

Luke, Has your courier got a 4g54 in it because someone has modded it? has it got a mitsi box in it or is it still original?

Cheers, Dean

They came with 4g54 stock from 87 to 91...maybe 92 not too sure when efi came in.
Don't know about the box, thats what I was trying to find out.

Will check out the wreckers and see.

There was a guy that posted on another board that i'm on that the tranny outta a mazda 2600 was a bolt on to his paj just it was pass side drop on the t\case rather then driver. He did it because he was swaping in a passide dana axle. SO i would say yep mods should fit
