Finally got around to dump some pix on my webspace, just done misc shots of the Dat. Showing the rear seat from a Tarago I fitted, the dash (to show Fez drivers how advanced the Fez's are !!

) the overhead console (stage 1 with icypole stick to hold radio in (Bruny Island is rough) ) missing roof liner !, underbonnet tool box, motor detail... or lack of it, the Hyundai seat I fitted.. that is too high.. and is comming out, not to forget RUST !!

, and even my VL commy got its nose in a pic. The sheets of zincalume under the car are only stored there.. its not a giant oil drip tray.. honest !! pic 7 is lush and is in 1024, the other pix are in 800 x 600.

AAh good man, body seems in good nick, I've also got a center console fitted, think they came standard on deluxe versions, otherwise exactly the same, but LHD. Electricals I send ya are from your version, I have to work from both the f20's and the f60, Isn't that hard tho with the very basic schematics.

Try to get some pics online..

I wouldnt like that... If its on the highway I know its redlined ! wonder what rev drop in top ya get with 33 series tyres... I like the green paint belive it or not... so I think I will repaint same colour, and grey inside !

F60\F65's have the centre console (I own a steel top 84 F60 Scat). Do not know about the F50\F55's (maybe only on Deluxe models). Late model F20's had the centre console as well I think.

Hey Sweeney, I was wondering if you know how the amp-meter is hooked up to the wiring. It hasn't been functioning since I got the car...
I looked at the schematics, but nothing like a ammeter there...
maybe you have a clue...
Thanks,
Ron

the amp meter should be inline with the main feed from the battery, not the thick lead to the starter motor but rather the thinner lead that goes to the fuse box, the wire should be red, easiest place to find it is on the starter motor on the same bolt as the main battery lead on the solenoid. break this wire and join some longer (same thickness) wire to each end, run both ends to the amp gauge, put the battery end on the RHS gauge terminal, and the other one on the opposite terminal, if the gauge swings the wrong way just reverse connections on gauge, cant remember gzzzacktly. when you join the wires SOLDER them and tape them up well, or cover with heatshrink.
Cheers.

Ah thanks, I'll try to hook it up tomorrow... haven't found time to put some pics online, been busy in the shed making some heavy duty shackles for a mild lift.

Sorry I haven't replyed to you, I been offline for a little while.
Mine seems to hook directly into the wiring harness last time I had the console off near where fuel and temp gauges. I do not have an idea on how to wire up the ammeter (do you have spare unexplained connectors in the dash area on your wiring harness?).
Next time I have it off I will try and follow it (do not hold your breath, I could'nt find the factory AM radio connector).

No worries mate. I'm getting the dash out this weekend so then I'll try to fix it. It's not that I really miss it, no electrical applications must result in a positive draw....
cheers

A couple of you guys have asked about the F50 I used to have on my webpage. I found the pages and have put them up for a while. Feel free to save a copy and add them to your own sites. I'm not sure if any of the email addresses on the page work now though...

From what I can see, it looks kool dude
Are they both front and rear? how much longer are they? I used 12.9 16 mm bolts to replace the step bolts. What tyres are you running??
cheers

thanks man,
i used 10mm bolts and decided to put the brake hose over the bolts cause having bolts that big seemed overkill. plus the more rubber, the more flex i will get out of them!
i did the same all round. front and back
the pics are of the front ones cause i did the back ones the night before and forgot to take pics
at the moment im only running small hankook allterains.
they have served me well and done very well in snow and mud.
But hopefully in a couple of days ill get my new tyres which are 34" LTB swampers!
my mate on this site, his user name is mudzuki, he is running the same tyres. just look at his avatar they are wicked!
ill put up some more pics

oh sorry i left out the crucial info!
the new ones are 50mm or 2 inches longer than the original and made out of 6mm thick plate steel.
i think that the extra 50mm made them about 175mm long total length.
here are some mor pics

kool again dude hehe.
Those 34's must rock! PLeas post experiences as I'm, not sure which way to go myself (gearing, tyres, spoa)). car seems very tippy already on 31's. my shackles seem overkill, hardened bolts and 12 mm thick plate (which I found in the shed). 60 mils longer than stock.
I reckon you'll also have a body lift to clear the 34's.
Cheers

yeah ill se how i go.
another guy ive been talking to on this site has fitted 33" with extended shackles and some cutting and thats all! no body lift at all.
with the massive offset rims ill need to put on to clear steering stuff, that should make it a bit more stable.
but i wouldnt do a spoa on my F20 that would be rediculous! id roll the car every time i went arould a corner!
so with plenty of cutting and making some flares i should get them under. the swampers are a small 34" they measure just under from memory

Hi guys! Found this site a while back while researching info for my 1979 F50.
Im seriously considering restoring it (for a second time) after watching A 4x4 is born, and seeing what daRangie did with his.
My grandfather bought the F50 new, and I was there the day it got delivered (showing my age), so I had my eye on it as a kid. He got a new car about 5 years ago and since them Ive had the F50 and its kind of at the stage of either do something with it or get rid of it. Anyway ill takes some pics and post some up.

that would be sweet man post em up!!
i finally got my swampers i was waiting for! only to find out that no place i went to down here in melbourne could supply the rims to fit them on!
the only option i had was to get some made which is rather exspensive!
but all is good cause the place where i got the tyre's from also has the rims im after so now all i have to do is wait till they get down here to melb.
oh well another week with out wheelin again. im goin crazy here

I lent my camera to someone so this is the best I can come up with atm. Unfortunately its not is as good condition now as I haven’t driven it in about a year and its been sitting in the rain, but nothing a little TLC wont fix
