Bullbar Mounting ...

I have sourced a cheap factory Nissan winch bar but it came without mounting hardware. I have already sourced the bolts but am having trouble getting the large, thick washers required to get a decent bite on the elongated holes on the bar.

For those that don't know what I'm talking about, they are about 40mm in diameter, about 4mm I think, high tensile flat washers with about a 13mm hole.

Anyone have any idea where I can find something like this. Rang ARB and Nissan, no go. Coventry Fasteners have something similar but too small.

If I can't find them I'll prob get some plates made up but was hoping for an "off the shelf" jobbie if possible.

All help appreciated. :D

Do they have to be round washers, why not get some 5mm by 40mm flat bar, cut it up into 40mm squears and drill a hole in the middle.

Job done

Yes, I did consider that too. It will only be a standard bar for a while without winch but if I haven't found a solution before I do put a winch in, that will be the next step.

I suppose grind the corners off and a whack of black rattle can would be bling enough ... ;)

How many do you want?

I work for ARB and we've got tons of em lying around the workshop - we usually chuck em away :!:

Legend!!! 10 would be great.

I rang your Head Office Showroom but the guy just ummed and erred. Didn't seem to keen to help.

I figured there would have been a box under someones bench full of them.

I work in Bayswater so can pick them up any day is good with you.

Thanks again. :D

no worries, loads of bars come with them but dont need them so they end up in the bin or in a big box under a bench.

Its probably too much effort for a salesperson to get off his ass and ask the fitters so they just say they cant help.

I'll have a hunt about tomorrow and let you know.

If you don't have any luck there, drop into an Ergon or energex Depot. Find an overhead linesman and ask for some crossarm washers - they are of similar dimensions - hole may be a little large though.
