Andrew, I'm curious as to where their intercooler is placed in the 79. Do they have a website?

Cheers,
Dave

There has been some work going on here in oz, a different grill is made that sits forward enough to fit one in front of the rad.
Norm Needham has a hdj79 fitted with the intercooler at the moment..

Yes, I've seen Norm's pictures. I'm just wondering if APS has a different solution to the lack of space in the 75/78/79 series.

Hi Phil
I think ive given you some bad info....APS will sell a kit to you if you can find 24 others willing to buy aswell...and im fairly sure the kit is for the 100 series or 80 series, not fzj79.
You have the option of making a system up using a water cooled aftercooler which is not very big at all. (check out the archives on www.lcool.org) Ive been told another 0zy company makes turbo systems for your motor now, but cant remember the name at the moment....
With the headers question, i had a set on my 1fzfe, and they do free the motor up at revs, and give you better economy, i believe they are Hurricane brand. If you have a look where the two header pipes meet together, they are both squashed there to fit into the larger pipe....i would suggest you have an exhaust place cut out that part of the header and rejoining in a descent fashion , either there or further towards the drivers seat area....the longer you make it, the better low down the torque is apparently. The extracters met right back there about 4 inches from the flange joint back there, and the muffler that is there in oz is not used.
You guys may have a cat converter there (or 2) to contend with.
