Jeez I thought I could beat you with my TD42. Then you whipped out the Monsta tacho and now I know I dont have a chance.
For extra power you sit the monsta tacho on the bonnet. Thats how all the cool kids do it.

I have both the 4.2 petrol carby LWB and a 4.2 EFI, and find them comparable for power and economy. The EFI eats the carby for cold starts thou. I have a turbo to go on the EFI one later, that should get it up.

And diesel carby's are stupid.
Much as I'd like a V8, the TB42 is a solid strong donk compared to plenty of other crap motors around.

been running 4.2 carby in comps for 5 years now and havnt had any real dramas. has enough power to get me into and out of trouble.
depends on what you want to do with it and how much power you think you need .
hoonz you should have put a turbo on the 4.2 petrol more power and cheaper than gen 3.

A turbo diesel td42 with 220kw at the wheels without gas injection? I think it would be cheaper power to drop the gen 3 in it

wouldn't be cheaper than doing it to the carby motor.

nah i can get a genIII set up cheaper then rebuild the tb42 put efi on and turbo
that and the wagon is gonna be tow vehical ...
so the bombed up turbo diesel should be perfect for it
