Rocsta Body lift

What size works?

I am looking at 32mm cause I know it has been done, but is 50mm still okay? Anything extra that needs to be thought about?

I am wondering if I will then fall into trouble with the gear levers etc.

Is the radiator bolted to the chasis?

Just adding this info for anyone that may search the archives in the future.

The standard bolt lengths are 80mm, so for a 40mm body lift the replacement bolts will be 120mm.

The standard mounts are 50mm diameter, so I will be getting 60mm diameter blocks for fun - no real reason.

the radiator is bolted to the chasis, so there is no need to relocate the fan shroud or radiator.

As paul suggested, a taller lift will require attention for the clutch slave cylinder. After looking at it, I think I may run into trouble even at 32mm body lift - will see?

the steering sharft will need to be extended, but only a small adjustment since it is on such a slight angle.

The fuel filler may be fine - though I will check it out.

The rear bumper and trim will be moved up to equal the body lift.

The front bar will stay where it is, until I make a custom bar for it anywaya - some stage in probably 8 or so years.

I have ordered the body lift blocks to be ready for pickup friday, basically the black nylon tube, bought at a meter, cut at 32mm. will cost about $30-40 plus the longer bolts to suit.

I should have a fun weekend, i just wish the effort would result in a higher lift, but the plan is to acheive just a little in a few places (ie body, springs, shackles, tyres), in the hope to keep a low COG.

You'll be suprised at what a little block can do for the clearence you'll get.
Next you'll need wider offset rims so it doesn't want to tip over and increase your track. The stock rims aren't real good.

The rims I have now are 1" wider offset for the moment.

The thing I am concerned with is the rear bar - you said you raised the rear bar to the next bolt holes up (using just the upper mounts). Now, I have cut the blocks at 32mm tall, I thought thats what you had, but I may be out by as much as 8mm?

Thanks, James.

Okay, I will get some photos - it is amazing the difference with the lift and the swaybar disconnected.

I have a set of 180mm shackles, just need to round the edges - they fouled when I tried to fit them in the wee hours of this morning.

You need to take those clips out that hold the brake line to the shock they look pretty tight ;)

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with it, though I want to do a springover if I can, or at least dropped hangers. or shackles if it has to be.

Is it Matt that did a SPOA on Lil Elvis? Do you have his contact details.

I checked the brake lines, and you are right, they are just about at the limits.
