I have a set of 31"s on my Vitara and they are a bit soft for off road but stick well on road I had no choice with tyres as they were on the 4by when I bought it. They are gettting thinner buy the day.

I have had a set of 31s on my sierra for a coupla years now. I use them for a general purpose tyre as my zook is just for fun and not used as a daily driver. For pure off road I use a set of Bogger TSLs.
Geolander MT Pros:
6ply side wall and very strong
Excellent on rocks (soft compound)
V.Good in Mud- I reckon they have a small edge on the BFG MTs
Directional so they clear better
Fair on road, I've been surprised how much grip they have in the wet.
Geolander MT Cons:
Wear! I'll be lucky to get 18,000 or so out of mine
Price probably comparable to most better off road tyres but sure they're on the pricy side. $/km is not so flash if that's your main criteria
Directional meh- not such a big deal, I just use a same size non directional spare
Noisy on the black stuff, I can't hear them over my engine but my engine is VERY noisy, I'd guess they would be on par with most aggressive tyres
I like them, but all in all there are probably better value choices out there, I may try the Cooper MTs as my next general purpose tyre

try the toyo tranpath m/t its directional with a pattern similar to the MT Claw hard compound but the lugs flex pretty well and at $185 a tyre for 31x10.5x15 its dirt cheap...oh yeh and they dig in and spit it out like u wouldnt believe

i had 35's, they we shagged after 25,000kms
soft compound is an understatement
sidewall is weak as, staked one in cape easily
noisey as all fxxxck onroad and vibrate at low speeds
