Dose anyone no how the headlights are switched as after a quick look today i think they switch the negative as with the motor running but lights of i still had 12 volts at the conector which gose on the head lights need to no to wire up relay for new spot head lights on the play truck as original lights are now gone

Hmmm yeah I did this not too long ago on my ute. Can't hardly remember exactly how I did it though (damn beer). From memory I took hi beam & negative from one side and lo beam & negative from the other side. Each of these fed a relay (1 hi beam, 1 lo beam), which switched positive. Then one of your connectors on the headlight is grounded and you feed the hi beam side from the hi beam relay, and the lo beam side from the lo beam relay. SOUNDS simple but it turned out being a real headf*ck when I did it.

For more help do a search through the auto electric section (yes, there is one!), as there has been a squillion threads on this.

When i did the roof lights on my zook, i just took the earth back to the high beam earth, works fine as its only for switching the relay.

So the relay has 12v from battery, 12v from switch, Output, and earth to high beam earth, so even with the switches on it still requires me to trip the high beams to earth the relay to turn on the lights.

Thanks guys wanted to just use the positive feed from one of the headlight connectors that power your head lights to turn the relay on and of but as it loks like they have a feed all the time i will have to use the earth from the same connector as it looks like suzki use earths to switch lights will stuff around with it today

Almost all auto elec is negative switched....

saves on wiring as the body of the car forms the return path easily..
