Does anybody know if an engineers certificate is required for a body change of the same make and model but just differnt style. As in removed Patrol wagon body and fitting ute body? Not chopping not changing, just swapping and using all the same mounts. Does anyboby know? Is anybody off outerlimits actually an engineer?

you would as the number of seats has changed. But it would be a very easy engineers to pass.
One thing to watch is putting a cab on from a newer model cause then you have to comply with the newer rules etc regarding blinkers etc

Also in the other direction. What if you had a a swb patrol and cut it into a ute with no roof but still leave the windscreen on. Should that pass engineering ok? Edit- It will have all recquired bar work/ rollc cage and seat belts fitted correctly.
