Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Just asking about the BFG Krawlers. Im just after peoples oppinions, im looking at adding dropped hangers later this year to the car in my sig which would enable me to run 35's. Im therefore thinking of runner 33's on road and 35's for play. I drive mainly rocks like menai, appin etc.. Any advice and the play tire i should be looking for, I wouldn't consider boggers though because i would consider doing weekend trips on these tires also which would include some on road K's. Experienced oppinions would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

I beleive the krawlers are very expensive, how much are u willing to pay for 35's.....This topic would be better answered on pirate as the yanks have a lot more people running them and you would get real feedback.

I run these tyres on my rock buggy - the 37x12.5s.

I do believe that these are a very good tyre. These tyres totally dominate the rockcrawling scene in the US and they dominate on all surface types from solid rock to dirt to mud.

The reason they are so good is because they are a really aggressive radial tyre (as opposed to a really aggressive cross ply tyre) They also have slightly angled side wall plys to give them sidewall strength comparable to the cross plys (as opposed to most radial tyres that have really weak sidewalls)

The tread compound is fairly soft which gives good grip - they are way softer than a claw or simex (probably comparable to a soft swamper -swampers generally range oll over the place in terms of tread compound) but they last longer than all these tyres on the road cause they are still a radial.

the price on 35s in au atm is still above $500 ea
and 37s are $595

i have access 2 a set of slightly used 37s for 3k
4x 95+ % and 2x brand newies

I run 37" claws but I would still say go the krawlers It will be my next tyre. There is nothing wrong with claws but as I said I would go a krawler if I was buying a new set of rubber tomorrow.

Norm Waleters was running these on the weekend at the extreme winch challenge and they were awesome he also came 3rd for the event the tyres worked awesome.

Thanks to all for feed back, i figure if they are a second set of tires they should last a while and any extreme tire is expencive so they may be the best option for where i drive.

Are you running the red labels or normal ones?
Because that makes a big difference as they use a different compound.
I don't believe you can get the 35's in the red label compound either.

I have read a lot of posts on pirate4x4 about people with the procomp Xterrain having great success on rock.
They also use a different compound in the 37" size as compared to the 35's.

Anyways, I would do as has been suggested and head to pirate and do some research
