Hi guys,

Finally decided to get front air lockers.

Just wanted to know where the best place is to mount the air compressor for the air lockers. My car is a 89 SWB GQ.
I would rather not mount it under the bonnet because of the heat and mud etc..
Im not fitting it myself, Ill leave it for ARB. But

Any tips anyone might have would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Rod

Mines mounted under the drivers seat. With the wiring running along the drivers scuff panel. Wiring then comes up past the kick panel and thru a hole in the firewall.
The air lines passs thru a gromet in the floor, just infront of the rear seat mounts. This works well. And since I use mine for pumping tyres up also. It is still easy to access, for putting an airline on.

Dad's is mounted in the same place, works well. Will put mine there too in the Mav. In my Patrol it is mounted on the drivers side rear wheel arch, but I'm thinking of moving it to under the seat.

Mine is mounted tight in the back left corner of the engine bay, on the back side of the wheel arch, easy to get to and out of the way

Mounted upside down to the bottom of the mount that holds the jack in position--Used countersunk bolts--works well

That would have been a good spot under the bonnet but since Ive got the LPG mixer thigo there.

So I take it that, there is sufficient room under the driver's seat for the compressor to live under?

It on the Rear wheel arch. There is plenty of room under the seat.
