hey everybody, my car is making a weird noise when turning at full lock. It is when I am making a right turn, sounds like something has broken off but I haven't a clue what it is

sounds like the hub has shat itself. Get underneath, grab the shaft to the front wheels and move it back and forth. The hubs can be replaced - Second hand fitted by a mech $250 - $300 from memory

Check it's not just rubbing against the steering stops. Just put some grease on them and see if it keeps happening. The rubber wears through and you get metal on metal making a horrible noise...but so easy to fix :) :)

I second Ferwoaza on this one. If you have a look on your lower wish bone thing you will have and adjustable steering stop. Grease it up or take it out. Can't make the noise if it's not there! ;)

Don't worry Heath. If you actually drove a Feroza every day you'd know the noise in question straight away! (Joke) Its a real high pitched, metal tearing/grinding sound.

Dave.

mmm yeah I know the noise now.... mainly when you go over the driveway backwards with the wheels turned at full lock.... yeah high pitched - of coarse, sorry, didnt even think of that one.

oh and dave i drove a Feroza for 5 years, I do know alot about em, just missed the description.

and I have had a broken noise which was the hubs - hence I went for that...... but all good..... hopefully just the metal bump stops...

thanks guys the noise you are talking about is the noise my car is making, I am having it it serviced soon, I have never had it serviced at a four wheel drive service place, should I take it there or is a normal mechanic good enough for the service

Heath, It was just a joke mate. Hence the word "Joke" in brackets. Didn't mean to offend, if i did.

just your normal mech would be fine. but really, this noise would go away with some grease.

My recommendation would be to find a mechanic that knows what a Feroza is for starters. Just simply ask them have they worked on these cars before, if not, move on. Maybe worth searching around for a daihatsu specialist...
