Cooler doesn't necessarily mean better, the engine needs heat to ensure oil flows quickly and metal parts of the engine mate properly.... heat also burns off the crap in the oil, etc.... my tb42 sits just on half, and with a new radiator thermos and hoses i figure thats where it should sit, after warm up it never moves..... apart from really cool nights where it will drop just below half, but not far.... i figure as long as its not overheating and the temp remains constant at half everythings doing its job....

Mine sits just on the left side of the temp symbol. Sitting that cool may mean that the water is low in the radiator and the temp guage isn't reading it properly or the sender unit may be clapped out. :D

No matter how good your radiator is it's your thermostat that regulates the temp as far as how low it sits when driving. Like when I put my shiny new radiator and twin thermo's in the temp still sat at the same spot.......but it doesn't move at all now no matter what I'm doing.
