Yank with 410 has questions

Yes, I'm a Yank, but I hope I'll still be welcome here.
I have an 85 SJ410 that I bought 3 years ago with the motor in pieces in the back. I'm finally ready to put it back together, but since Suzuki never "officially" imported these into the US, as you can imagine I'm having more than a little difficulty finding parts. I have been lucky enough to have someone over here find a 410 in a salvage yard, and he is going to try to get some of what I need off it. However, I may need some "additional help" to get everything I need. One of your members here, Guy Robertson, suggested that I join your group and that some of you here might be able to help. First, I was wondering if anyone has ever put some other type of carb system on the 410 motor? I know I will never be able to find a rebuild kit for the stock carb over here, and I am also missing the ECM and I doubt that I will be able to find a replacement for it either. Is there any way to put a different carb system like an SU or Stromberg sidedraft? Or maybe a homebrew or aftermarket manifold to put something like a set of motorcycle carbs? Any "hop-up" parts or tricks to get a few more ponies out of this little motor? How about things to improve reliability that I can do while I'm putting the motor back together? Any useful info would be much appreciated! I'm sure I'll have more questions as time goes along, so please bear with me.
Thanks!
