80 series driveshaft length

Is the drive shaft length on a 91 turbo deisel GXL the same as a 94 petrol GXL?

Found out yesterday.
A 91 turbo deisel has a longer front drive shaft than a 94 petrol.
It did fit on mine by about 10mm but i reckon it would not have if i did not have such a big lift.
