Removing swivle hub bearings ? What to use?

Hey Guys,

Ive got to go through and replace my wheel bearings / swivle hub bearings. I would like to do this at home, and have bought the kit etc, but last time I did this for a mate we had to take the 'swivle' bearings down to somewhere to get removed and the new set pressed on.

Since then ive looked at bearing removal tools but the 'fingers' seems too fat to fit under the bearing to pull it off.

Any ideas on how to remove / tools to remove would be great.

Thanks

Glen.

You can get a bearing separator that looks like two tapered plates of steel, that bolt together laterally. the tapered plates slide under the bearing from the force of the bolts tightening.

Welder
Smash the outer bearing shell off and run a weld around the inner. It will then drop off.

Warm up the inner sleeve with the oxy will help them separate.
