Outer Limits 4x4 Board

I am about to make some extended shackles for my wifes zook and have noticed how crappy the shackle angle is.
The previous owner had just fitted new springs and shocks before we bought it (that are as stiff as fawk).
The shackle angle on the back is vertical at rest. no angle to it at all.
The front is not much better nearly vertical just a slight bit of angle.

Is that how they are stock or is it to do with my aftermarket springs?

I could really do with leaves that are an inch - inch and a half or so longer just to get the shackles away from vertical a bit.
Any ideas?

the best angle is some where around 45 degrees

you could possibly get the springs reset to have less arch giving it more room eye to eye and giving more shackle angle

my stock suspension has a rear shackle thats vertical Begging to be replaced with lux front springs

I have a calmini 5"sr lift kit both my shackle's are verticle the only difference i could see from having them at 45deg would be more down travel (though less up) so you 4x4 would sit a little lower on the road and maby not lift tyres as easy around corners but would have less clearance off road.

My new setup has longer springs, and the shackle angle is dead on 45. We sey it up this way because it give a good balance between up and down travel, and is also a HELL OF A LOT more comfortable on road!!
