oxygen sensor ?/fuel economy

Hey has anyone replaced their oxygen sensor latley? My nh is getting s@it fuel ecomony and if the Gregory's is right my oxygen sensor is gone (no contuctivity between poles 1 & 3) got a price from repco for $156 ...how much are they at mitsi ? anyone got any experence with these?

OK, I can't help much.
But, I did buy a 4 wire sensor for a VR/VS Commodore for about $110 - can't remember who I bought it from, but it was mail order, and came overnight.
$156 strikes me as excessive - shop around a little more? To the best of my knowledge they all have the same O2/voltage characteristics - the difference is whether or not they're heated, and how many wires the heater uses. There may be a difference in size/mounting threads too...
Consider a wrecker too? Find one who'll offer a warranty - can you bench test it at the wrecker?

4 wires on the connector nh/v6/30 lt....... will a holden sensor do as well? $156 was the first i've got so far from repco concider the wreckers and take the mutimeter with me but will i be able to bench test it ???? ie not grounded to the car?
ps what do u mean heater this is the oxygen sensor on the exaust pipe

Yep - the sensor will be heated by exhaust gas, but it often takes too long, and the emissions are wrong while waiting for it to come up to temperature. So the boffins added a heater element to bring the sensor up to temperature sooner. Some are a single wire heater, grounding through the sensor ground. Others are two wire heater to keep the circuits separate, which theoretically gives a more accurate signal to the ECU.
I wired one into my Sigma to help with tuning the Webers. Using a multimeter I identified the heater element (straight resistive connection between two pins) and then I had to run the engine and watch the voltage change on the other two wires, to work out which is +ve and which -ve.
If this hasn't scared you back to Repco
spend a little time on Google, looking for info on "EGO sensors" or "Exhaust Gas Oxygen." I found a fair amount of good info relatively easily.

Yep NGK = $160 Ea specific to 3.0 V6 (not generic) from local Autobahn store.
