both can fit so whats pro's and con's of both,

besides price as we all know 15"s are slightly cheaper


so why get 16's?

greater load rating less sidwall flex for better handling on road

yep I run 15's also due to price!

Greater clearance between caliper and inside of rim.
Better cooling for Brakes.

But apart for the trivia, i run 15s on my GU ( Cheaper Rims/Cheaper tyres)

Some manufacturers permit 35 inch tyres to fit on 16 x 8 rim, not 8.5 rim like 15's require.

Generally speaking:
The main advantage is the higher load carrying capacity of the 16" tyres, which basically equates to a stronger tyre with better puncture and impact damage resistance.
The shorter sidewall gives better steering response and handling on and off road. Less side wall flex.
The 15" may be cheaper, but IMO it's better to spend a little more to begin with to get something that is going to be far better in the long run.

Better caliper clearance is a good thing too. The number of rims that I have seen scored up and damaged by rocks getting caught between caliper and rim are too many to count.

All comes down to tyre sizing too... There aren't a great number of smaller 16" aggressive tyres. So on smaller vehicles the 15" option is better. Opens up a greater number of choices for tread patterns and brands.

If running same size tyre but 15 vs 16 there will be more sidewall flex with the 15.

As above , but 15's will give a softer ride?
