Does anyone know if there is a baby seat mounting bolt position in an 85 LWB Pajero? I haven't looked closely, but I haven't seen one.

I used the 6th and 7th seats upper belt mount.

Thanks for that! It's about what I was thinking, either that or using the rear seat mounting bolts, as I very rarely use the rear seats, and when I do I won't have bub with me!

Check above the rear door, at least that's where mine are for an NH anyway.

i replied in the vic paj forum. but for anyone else, my NG came with a heavy bar that ran across the tailgate just under window level. it had 3 mounting points. Dont know who manufactured it but it wasnt home made.

M1s3ry, I checked where you said, there are four bolt holes, but they aren't big enough for a baby seat bolt. I would expect that this is where the bar that Andrew speaks of bolts in. Perhaps I should set about making one ( a mate of mine is a certified welder!)

Most baby seats use an 8mm bolt, not the 7/16 unf of seatbelts.

Guys, I've been speaking to the technical department of the RACT (tasmania), and they said that the best method is to drill a hole in the floor to mount the bolt, with a 50mm washer under the floor.
They had never heard of the rail that Andrew has, and said the seat belt hole would not be approved because it is off the centreline of the baby seat. I mentioned the seat mount, and he said that it would be OK, because it is designed to hold a seat, but because the bolt is larger you would need to modify the baby seat fitting, and insurance companies would probably frown on this idea!
So thanks for all your help, but I think I'll drop the fuel tank out and drill the floor. I need to drop the tank anyway to fix a perished fuel line!

Rivet the plate with the captive nut to the floor so if you pull the mount point in and out you don't have to keep removing the tank
