Ok this maybe a stupid question, but. Can I swap my frount and rear diffs arouns. The reason I ask is my rear I have discovered has no filler/check plug. Where as my frount has one on the axle housing, and another on the diff/carrier itself. Reason for this, the mechanic changed the rear complete for me when doing RWC. Obviously now I cant check my rear oil levels, which I occasionally like to do.

if you have the standard 3.54 diff gears (I assume you do) then yes you can

Yes you can do this, but the "new rear" diff may be a bit weaker since it will now be loading up the opposite side of the teeth to before. Probably no problem though.

Excellent, now I have a dent in the frount housing as well, from a recent weekend. While I have the frount pulled out, is it viable to beat this dent out or will that weaken the housing in that place. It doesn't interfere with the diff at the moment.
Really should get some protection for it.

Yes you can beat the dent out without weakening the housing. The cover is only made of very thin steel. MCNamaras sell a thick weld on cover bowl for this area.
