Depends on what width the 33 is really.

i put 35x10.5x15 simex ET's onto my 15x7's i also have a 35x12.5x15 on one of my 15x7's. they will fit they'll just have more curve in them but they do seat the beat very quickly, so they might hold onto the bead better on a smaller rim. the JT2's will fit on a 15x7.

Outside of rim recs and insurance...
I regularly run 12.5 wide tyres on 7 inch rims.
It is a personal choice but for me the narrower rim holds the bead tighter, protects the bead and sidewall (because it draws it inwards) and exposes the shoulder for more traction.
Think of it this way...at the other extreme...a wide rim with a narrow tyre will have the bead protruding out past the shoulder...it will be highly exposed.

so you reckon a 37x12.5" would be ok on a 15x7" rim???

i agree with holding the bead tighter and protecting the sidewall better, just everyone says you cant do it

Have run 53x11 on 16x7s and 33x12.5 on 16x7s with a 400Hp motor and no bead locks. Am the current A4WDMRA mud drags champion for road registered vehicles.
