engineering help

hey im in the process of puttin a 308 into my hilux (87 medel) and its a rede 308 motor just wondering what is involved in getting it engineered and will i have hasels also anyone no a good gearbox that will take a bit of harrasment lol thanx

i think pollution wise, you may have to run the red 308 on gas to get it engineered cause it is older than the original 1987 hilux engine.

Its pretty frowned upon by the RTA to have a earlier model engine in a late model car. But if you can get the emmissions to an 87 model standard then there really is no reason why it cant be engineered. Best talk to an engineer.
And yes about the only way you will get the CO low enough is with gas, which is more $$$.

i answerd my own q all i need is a charchole canister and the exhaust to be bello w 90 db

What state are you in and what engineer are you using? Im in NSW and have an 89 and could not get it regod with a red motor due to it being pre unleaded/ emmissions numbers like all red motors are unless i run straight gas. Im very interested in what happens with yours it may lead the path of further mods to mine
