Just got myself a 1992 lwb gq 4.2 deisel. The problem is when i put in reverse and i am on a slight hill i get a shudder which goes away when i increase the revs.It also does it when taking of forwards but not as bad, could this be caused by loose or warn engine mounts.

clutch checks out ok.One strange thing i was putting it away before (my drive way slopes)the hand brake was on started it up and it was shuddering ,sounds more like the mounts.

clutch clutch & clutch mine had two broken engine mounts for ages but didn't shudder until clutch got sus. Took it out & all looked fine but new heavy race clutch in now & all good. :) Or maybe hand brake is dragging or LSD has water in it. Sometimes an LSD with water in it will feel like a clutch when you turn very slight curves slowly. :)

Passenger side engine mount. Go genuine part, not aftermarket.
