I have just bought a 2 point immobilser for my Suzuki Sierra, as a requirment from the insurance company - how much should I be expecting to pay for it to be wired in from an Auto Electrician.
Strathfield Car Radio have quoted me $160, the unit only cost me $70 on sale!!

Just don't wanna get ripped off! I thought about doing it myself but a bit confused by the crappy instructions!

$160 is a fair price PROVIDING they do a good job and install it all properly.....

Having said that, I've yet to see a commercial alarm/ immobiliser install that I've been impressed by. They all seem to just do it as quickly as possible and don't bother soldering wire joins, loom wires etc.

Haven't got a friend that can do it for you?

It can be done in under 2 hours and is a very simple job. Less than 1 hour is likely.

When I installed my car alarm my insurance company asked who the company was that fitted it. I said I did it myself but I used to do it professionally (which I did) and they said "ok then". So obviously they aren't too fussed who fits it.
