Just wondering as to where you guys have mounted your UHF in A GU.

I am considering a dash pod. Is this the way to go.

Over dash visibility is already bad, so a dash pod will make it worse, buy a remote face radio and mount the main unit under the dash out if sight. The other alternative is a roof console that runs between the driver and pasanger.

the panel below the heater controls(the one with the ciggie lighter) is easily removed and has enough space behind it for any uhf. i fitted a gme tx4400 in there with no drama's.

i have tx3400 and mounted mine underneath the heater controls and mounted the main unit inside the gloves box i actually removed the entire glove box and there was steel bar upside underneat the dash so it was mounted there high and dry.

if you want pics i can take some.

Thanks guys for your advice.
Would like to keep the standard stereo as funds dont allow me to remove it just yet.

When removing the panel under the heater controls what have you done with the subtank switch.
Am installing a TX 3200. (again Its out of my older vehicle and i dont particularily wany to purchase a detatchable face model as this 1 works well enough.
Have mounter it temporality beside the passengers left leg on the side of the console.

very neatly done, my nissan stereo while sounds cool does skip a fair bit. How does that 1 perform does it skip much on rough roads?

I have a TX3400 with the detachable head. I mounted the head above the ciggie lighter and mounted the unit under the drivers seat. Easy to install and you can still hear it. You could do the same with the TX3200.

Robbo it does skip but much less than the nissan one in mine that used to skip on some sealed roads. What is also good is that you can fit 180 odd songs on a cd in mp3 format
