i have 15x8, 15x8 beadlocks, 15x10 and even a set of old hilux 15x7 rims [with the centre hole ground out a bit to fit over the hub] on my GU ute.

yeh yeh, all at different times before you ask

Fits but risky

!5 inch rims will work on GU. On the front you are left with only a 5mm clearance on the calipers. Will be fine as long as you don't pick up a smal rock or slightly bend the rim. Most steel rims aren't round either. Also reduced cooling for brakes.

The only 15" to go over the new brake setup is an 8" with with at least -28 offset. Obviously anything higher will fit, however this is the cheapest 15 on the market that will bolt straight on no worries

Thanks for your help. A mate of mine is looking at buying a 2000 GU ST Coil Cab Ute with the 4.2TD. The reason i asked about the rims is that he has a set of 33X12.5X15 STT's on his troop carrier and we were wondering if they would fit or whether he'd have to get a 16" tyre. I must admit, myself being a tojo fan all the way, I was hell impressed by the level of comfort etc in this ute. I have not compared prices but i think that what you get in these things is a bit better value and lesser price than the old 79 series RV ute.

Are there any problems or issues that are common and that he should be on the lookout for when inspecting this model ute??? Any comments greatly appreciated....cheers :D

Yeh my turn. As long as they are toyota offsett cos its the inside of the spokes that touch the caliper if they are nissan offset. Its not so much the diameter but the offset angle on the rim centre. Yep clear as mud. :D
