Hi guys I picked up a 2nd hand Safari Snorkel a while back and haven´t got a template or any of the gear to put it on with and I need some pointers. If anyone has a spare template that would be great! Other than that should I just make my own by marking where the holes on the snorkel are on a piece of cardboard/paper and hold it up on the car to drill? I would also like to know the proper way of hooking it up to the airbox.
PS it´s a Gen 2 GLS and the snorkel part no is SS25HF
Thanks
Stuart

I fitted a snorkel to a mate's car without the template (bought the snorkel from a wrecker), and I made a template up from cardboard.
I cut the template out, including all the holes (mounting screws, air outlet etc, then taped it onto the car. I checked the measurements properly (about 5 times), marked the holes onto the car, removed the template and remeasured, marked up the centre of the hole, and got the holesaw out. I bought a holesaw the correct size for the job, and started cutting.
It's very therapeutic cutting someone else's panels!
It all bolted up fine, and you couldn't tell that it hadn't been there for a long time, as it was faded like the car! I think a new snorkel would have looked poxy on his old, faded red machine!
Cheers, Dean
