Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Does anyone have aftermarket seats in their 40 series?? looking at getting some, have no idea what will fit?? Also can you buy new brackets to fit them??

I put 4Runner seats in my 40, they line straight up to stock they are ok comfortable, but not off road racing body hugging by any means...

Where is your fuel tak - under seat or do you have raised floor? You might need to mod existing frame to mount your choice of seat...

It's a hundred litre tank that sits ontop of the pan right across, under the seat. It came from a '45 series, but I'm told seats from a post 1977 40/45 series should fit straight in. I have two celica seats from a later model 40 that have been modified to bolt straight on, so I'm just after the bases.

backets appear to need minor drilling in the offset of the front of the rails..

as scotto said a set of custom rails will only take a weekend to make up

ive just built complete custom mounts for 2 vw seats they where already in it when i got it but where hacked into place and since ive gone straight lpg i didnt need the tanks under the seats

lots of storage space now

ive also made the seats go right back to the wheel arch so ive got plenty of space for larger than normal ppl

Vx seats in my 40

i have seats out of a toyota cressider, they seem to bolt up with out brackets, the comfortable(more like arm chairs), but as scotto said they wont hug you offroading,

my brother (bad r) has racing seats in his, there really comfy and he need alittle modification to fit them, a day with angle iron and they were in,
they hug u great of road,

and thats what all us big tough guys need when where in the bush a big old hug from our 40's spesh that scotto guy,
