Turbo Deisel Owners Beware

These pics are of a 100 series cruiser with 156k on the clock. Engine was turboed at 2000kms. Result of overfueling from aftermarket turoe was this crack etc and there was also minot cracks in all other 5 pistons.

If you own an aftermarket tuboed deisel, then fit an EGT so you can tell if it is overfueling, and regular servicing of the fuel pump must me done as they can start to overfuel over time.

Replacment of pistons, honing of cylinders and labour cost in excess of $4000.00

I assume thets just a normal 100 series NA motor?
Heard of this happening on 80s too with after market turbo.

Yes sorry, 1HZ N/A engine from the first 100s

It can happent to any overfueled engine but I hear that the 1HZs are particarily prone :?:
