The difference between OME and Tough Dog struts is chalk and cheese. The Tough Dog extended strut is essentially a standard Gabriel strut with a 3" extension added to the strut. This is good for downward movement but when said and done you only have the standard length of travel. Where as the OME strut has a genuine extra length of 40mm in the stroke and is far more usable. So forget price and use what works best.

Just a tip, when changing struts on a Vit/GV ensure that the big 2" washer that sits under the mount on the top of the strut is retained and reinstalled on the new units. Without it, on full closure of the upward stroke the shaft can punch the centre spacer out of the mount and leave the shaft of the strut free for massive movement.

Thanks Podge
I've always wondered how the high price of the Toughdog strut was justified but it's seems OME is still the best.

I read or seen somewhere (maybe on outerlimits) that Dobinsons struts give u more travel than OME struts... is this true??
