Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hi all,

Well the suspension lift is starting to take it's toll, and now the yokes on the rear tailshaft are hitting the a-frame on heavy uptravel.

I figure i need an a-frame ball joint spacer to suit the 3" lift.

Who's got one, did they make them or buy them?
If they bought them, who supplies them?
Or has everyone got custom made jobs?

ARE YOU SHURE ITS HITTING THE AFRAME

I have one that will work for you but its not available yet, I am doin a custome four link so the current ball joint spacer will be no use. as a matter of fact nun of the shit i got in that rangie spares articulation kit will be in use

Unless you have a bush gone somewhere I do not think its possible, unless you have removed the bump stop. Nothing changes relationship in the upward direction.
Sounds like the axle nose must be lifting under power. The yolks are not binding on down travel are they?
Never heard of this before unless something worn out or broken.
BUT you learn something every day.
My impression is that the spacer is just to prevent the axle bracket tearing out, as has happened to me twice.

Philip i too dont think its even possible for that to be happening sumthing must be worng sumwhere

But i still have the spacer available soon

Ok here's a pic showing the marks where the yokes have been hitting the edge of the a-frame.
It makes a god-awful sound when it does too!
I'm thinking i can get around the problem temporarily by extending the bump stops to limit uptravel.

What is the directly beneath view of the axle to A frame relationship. Is there clearance? If so somehow your axle is moving sideways.
It seems really strange that it hits the TOP of the A frame.
I would be checking all the bushes, especially the ones at body end of the Aframe , the big donuts and the one from trailling arm to axle. Thats the lot isn't it. maybe its a cumulative effect, but the Aframe bushes are what laterally hold the axle.
