sway bar disconnects for GQ

ive just fitted 2in coils and 30mm coil spacers to my mav. havent bought shocks yet, it rides ok with no swaybars, but since the mrs runs the kids around in it, id like to have them on as it does tend to bounce around a bit more. with them on it seems to limit wheel travel quite a bit, i couldnt even get the stock coils out without undoing them.
has anyone made their own disconnecters, id love to see some pics, any info would be appreciated

These are from a IFS set up, but you might be able to modify it for what you want...

Dad's GQ has the standard links in the front, but they have been cut in half and extended with tubing that slips over the cut pieces. I will be doing the same to my Mav

I bought one something similar to what MKPatrolGuy says.

I think wizard were selling them for like $180 a set anyway.

Had disconnects, swapped for getting the links extended.
I have to drive around the city a fair bit so wanted to keep my swaybars, and be legal (insurance)

The IFS style don't work so well on the GQ, as they still limit travel,
you still would not get your coils out as you have no more droop.
I extended the front and rear links on one side till the sway bar was level at ride height.
Then on the other side front and rear I cut the links, then stepped them up in diameter to make them easier to work with, then inserted them in a tight fitting outer sleeve which I drilled at each end and put an R clip through. To disconnect you remove both R clips and slide the tube down over the lower link then swivel it sideways and remove it from the lower.
Refitting is just a reverse of this, with the vehicle parked on level ground.
Sorry no pics.

It is, and we just use 2 14mm spanners to undo them before 4x4ing

Extended swaybar links never gave me less travel in the rear depending on how stiff your springs are..
I can get you extended swaybar link pins for $55 a pair+ Freight.
