TD-6 RUNNING ON.....AGAIN!!

Hey guys, yeah its happening again. The TD-6 is 40 000 old and due for major service and it is running on again. It mainly happens after using the air-con, even then its not predictable making it hard to diagnose.

I'm in Sydney this week and have booked in with Ryde Nissan for the service hoping they might have a good mechanic that can fix the problem. Anyone had experience with them?

I'm considering writing to Nissan Melbourne to get a bit of attention if persists. ( I personally think its a injector pump problem as she is a bit smokey when she starts up but no one wants to have a look there). Anyone else had problems similar or dealings with Nissan. Any advice, anyone work for Nissan? Thanks.

Gday,
Is your patrol a wagon or a ute? I take it it is the factory intercooled version. Let me know as i may be able to help.
cheers Dunny
PS How long does it run on in seconds?

Dunny its a factory intercooled turbo wagon 03 model. (GUIII) It runs on for up to 3 or 4 seconds very rough and uncontrolled.

A tech bulletin has been releasd for utes with a run on concern the injection system on the TD6 relies on the ECM sending full voltage to the TCV(timing control soleniod ) at "key off" to ensure correct shut down. Eletrical interferance can cause the power to the TCV to be stopped therefore allowing the engine to run on, a new harness with diode is available for a ute but the wagons have NATS and do not need it, get your dealer to consult nissan Tech lne for repair.
cheers Dunny

Thanks Dunny, they actually replaced the harness at the 20000 service as per the bulletin but it still runs on. I'll speak with the local dealer again as the Ryde dealership wrote the run on off to the bulletin and didn't remember that I had already told them it had bereplaced  so I'm back to square one. Thanks for your advice, appreciate it.
