What to expect from??

IE: new style BFG, MTR"S, PRO-COMP MUD TERRAIN, THE NEW COOPERS,
etc etc.

My 35" BFG's have done just on 26,000ks, wear is noticable but by no means excessive. They still work exceptionally well and have developed no nasty habits such as shudders or road noise.

I have distroyed 1 tyre so far and this was done by a large stick ripping the sidewall out...... driver error ????? perhaps, but certainly not through the tyres fault or a weakness that I was unaware of.

I will certainly be replacing them once they are worn out with another set of the same.

Thanks thats the input im after.
I was told by a dealer that the BFG's are only getting 25000kays before they are stuffed. Go figure he doesn't sell BFG's. He recons the pro-comp mud terrains are about the strongest longest lasting mud tyre around, without going to the extreme tyres. I want a good tyre that i can drive to work on daily, but I want grip off road.
Don't want much hey

Get a cheap set of all terrains for the road and change to the expensive muds for the weekend.

~10 minutes to swap tyres, and both sets will last longer.

As I stated above....26,000ks and still looking good, I recon I'll get atleast another 10,000ks out of them and they will be still servicable for road use but not offroad use.
This winter may well be their last but they will still be on the rig untill next winter atleast, the way they are wearing so far suggests I may even get part of next winter out of them too.

My only design complaint is the sidewall ply, but you cant have ya cake and eat it too....... one extra ply would be sweet but then sidewall flex would be reduced.... I belive that the sidewall is a little soft for the height of the tyre, most of the damage they have received is visable on the sidewalls yet the tread area seems little effected, perhaps this is why they are wearing so well at this stage

The tyre I distroyed had the sidewall ripped for about 3" and was done by a small stick around an inch diameter, the stick was "green" and had a slightly sharpened end and I hit it at speed ( around 70kph )..... perhaps most tyres may have been ripped too but I thought that the tyre would have survived it a little better and been reusable as a spare rather than a throw away item.

All in all I'm wraped with the performance in the BFGs and will most certainly be fitting them again.

I have a set of 33 x 10 BFG Muds on my GQ LWB and it does DD duties about 350 km a week and has done quite a few trips 1500km+ . They are wearing but not as fast as I would have expected considering the kms I'm putting on them. Probably 20 000 so far and they have probably 10mm tread left (that is a guesstimate so don't quote me)

i have got pro comp x-terrians, 35inch
they are ok on road excellent off road and mud
have done about 6000kms they still on 60%tread so not too bad!

40% worn with 6000kays!! thats terrible. I have 35" x-terrains as well and I am dissapointed at the tread wear rate. Ive done 30000kays and they are 50% worn, which in actual fact is not to bad, however they have been shite off road for the last 10000 kays so 20000 kays of useable off road mileage is pretty poor. anyone with a tyre 50% worn and still ok off road??

Kingy .. are your BF's the older style or the newer KM's ?
