one way fuel valve - help!

Hi Guys,

Well I have just found out that there are cracks in the black plastic resevior and in the one way valve...thus why I have been getting so high while driving!

I have sealed the cracks up with araldite and now realised that I am not sure as to which way the one way valve should point!!!

When looking at the rear right hand quater panel the valve sits to the left of the black resevior. Can someone tell me if the one way valve should point to the left (that means the fumes go to the left) or to the right (which is into the black resevior)???????

Pictures would be a real help!!!

Thanks
Ben

Emissions section of the Service manual; page EC17.

Thanks for that but it doesn't tell me much about which way the gases are supposed to flow? Actually I can't see anywhere where it mentions the rear quarter panel at all so unless I have the wrong version? It was for the HD-E engine...

I have tried it both ways and the engine runs no matter what. It appears to be a little bit quieter when vavle is pointed so the gases go INTO the canister/resevior...is this correct?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks.

In the Service manual - not the HD-E engine manual. ;)

There's a pic showing the routing of all the hoses with the valve.

oh...

Thanks for that. For people's reference...the one way valve makes the gases flow into the black resevior.

Cheers
