Hi there, i have an Airflow snorkel that i bought brand new, i tried to fit it this weekend but found that i can not fit the section that goes between the actual snorkel to the air cleaner due to the piece of metal that is originaly fitted to vehicle to be used as the original intake.......
Can anyone help me with this prob. or has anyone had this problem???????

I got the 3.3 t/d , the piece of metal is the original intake that sits between the guard and the inner guard and it is spot welded.....to the inner guard, it is visual as soon as you remove the plastic section inside the wheel arch.....

not too sure, havnt instaslled a snorkel before, but i think that may need to be removed as the snorkel protrudes into the engine bay and you use the flexible rubber hose to attach it, i know thats how Safari snorkels work,
do you have any pics?

Yes i have installed severall snorkel before there are about 5 10mm bolts holding that in and them you take out the indicator and place a screwdriver berween the body and the air duct and leaver off will come off with a little bit of effort.

Your talking about the inner guard here aren't you .....you will have to cut another hole in this just like the guard on the outside. Snorkel will then attach striaght to out filter houseing with flexible ducting or at least the Safaris snorkel does

im nearly 100 percent positive, that all MQs came with the hole in the inner guard already from factory, i know all the diesels did anyway............. just get a cetnre mark from the inside to the inside of the outer guard and drill from out side

the one in my old MK was cut out with hole saw......so not all had the hole from factory or at least mine didn't

Thanks to all your responses..........But what i did was remove the guard then cut off original intake box which is spot welded to the inner guard and then it was ok to fit the boxed section of the snorkel which conects snorkel to the pre cleaner ......
it now fitted in place realy well with no hassles at all.........
