Thanks for the PM Gopher.......unfortunately, those pics are lost to the ages since my last computer swap (different hard drive)
I'm not sure they would have helped you anyway as I am running a commodore V6 engine instead of the standard 1.6 HD-E engine.
Murcod has the best pics and set-up for the standard engine....have you PM'd him ???

Mine was bent up at an exhaust shop, couldnt be bothered with mandrel bends. Look closely at the air cleaner can, you can see where I blanked off the original intake, and fitted a new one straight out through the mudguard.

i have a scat but it is basically the same i just covered the orig air hole and cut a new in the air box and went straight throw the gaurd and used a flexi black dranig pipe that i got for a couple of bucks from the plumers and custom brakets and hose clamps to hold it on but you could allso use air ceder hose or pod adaptor hose that would do the same sort of thing but comes in all sorts of sizes, lenghths and colors

if you made a PVC or fibreglass one that was contured like the side pillar and close to the fender, double sided tape is a feasable option to hold the snorkle to it with-out having to worry about drilling holes.
i like that exhuast pipe snorkel. i use exhaust pipe with my intercooler piping, they work well.

Thats a pretty sweet snorkle
is there way of getting around the pillar holes or makin them smaller
coz wouldnt they weaken the pillar and make it easier for it to crumble in a roll over. i spose if you roll over your pretty screwed anyway

Mikes H.'s Feroza had a plastic pillar cover so the holes didn't show. I found some one inch plastic hole plugs at the hardware store.

I used rubber door edge trim...the stuff that is supposed to keep your doors from getting dinged. It's in every auto parts store over here in black and chrome. It has an adheasive already on it. Just cut and press. I then black siliconed the snorkel to the edge trim.

I am keen to make something up using 3" PVC.
Will need a bit of experimenting, but I found this site
http://www.rangerovers.net/outfitting/snorkels/snorkel4.html which explains a bit about forming the plastic using heat .... not entirely clear but a good starting point.
