I know this has been done a few times, but couldnt really find what I was looking for.
I am after some ~6" speakers to replace the factory ones. Is it possible, or are there any speakers on the market that will sit in where the current ones are with no mods to door/trim?
I would like the same look with the factory speaker cover if possible?

I had luck with pioner speakers from strathfield car audio just take your old gq ones in and match them up

the only speakers that that i have found that are thin enough to fit in the front doors without fouling windows and not using spacers, are the kenwood's.

I used some pretty thin panasonics but since I had power windows I opted for spacers anyway - dont stand out anywhere near as much as the power window bits.

what i did were get some marine ply to jack it off the door a bit i got 3ways in the front only prob is the window winder handle just nicks the speaker a bit

but it works
and in marins case i dont think he needs to wind his window down he spends more time in water bog holes then out

take your time to find thinner speakers, winding the window down with spacers and knocking your knuckles all the time is a pain in the a$$

thats why i have electric as mine are spaced a bit and are 6" pioneer splits with the tweeters in the corners of the windscreen, pretty deep though speakers though, awesome sound as they are amped. i think they are spaced about 30mm though, major modifications made to the door trim
