Fuel Cell in Cabin

Is it legal to run a fuel cell inside the cabin of a car in qld? What about if it is sealed in a box with external vents???

personally I wouldnt want to be sitting that clost to the petrol. why not put in a whole false floor that then drops through to the road? That way its taking up the same space however is external and safer.

thats true, but every old cruiser on the road has the fuel tank directly under the drivers seat, so it cant be 'that' dangerous to have the thing inside the cabin

i can personally can't see why not because in 45 series cruiser utes you sit on top of the fuel tank!

I beleive it is legal as long as it is externaly filled and vented.

same with a rover...but i think they would be more concerned about filling and leaks...fumes posibly if not 100% sealed...

the old geminis had their fuel tank behind the back seat in the cabin so i can't see why not......

according to qld transport as long as it is externally vented and externally filled then it is legal... we have done this with lots of different cars over time and indeed my old 40 series fuel tank was mounted under the drivers seat.......i would recommend using a rci fuel cell ( foam filled ) to prevent sloshing... there is some cheaper ones out there but the foam filling has a habit of detaching itself from the cell

That's the cruisers until the '79-'80 models, then they went to an external fuel tank.

i'm looking at it cause its gonna be in the way of my axle, and mine current fuel tank is just about farked after toughtracks
