Hey guys... just noticed i have no brake lights or tail lights, but indicators and reverse both work.... doesnt appear to be any of the fuses in the box under the steering wheel - and my electrical knowledge stops at checking fuses.

anyone got any ideas? theres no way i simultaneously blew all those globes =) or did i?

Hmmm, could have blown them all at once. Have ya checked the globes themselves?

check the plug under the taillights to see if there is a good connection.

I am guessing the front park lights still work ok? brake lights could also be the switch, it is located on top of the brake pedal. You should be able to see if it is switching manually by pressing it in. A mate had the same problem.

cheers

How do the earths look for the stop/tail light circut. Possible be that???? Wish i could be a bit more help sorry mate. Or possibly could blow both globes at once, though this would be pretty uncommon.

This could be long shot, but under the bonnet on the firewall behind the dizzy there should be a plug (with about 8 pins from memory) for the wires that go to the back of the car. Just check and see if its full of mud and crap.

be careful if checking/changing globes...
they can rust in (also a possible reason why they not work)
and when trying to remove them they can break and result in having the end of your finger stitched back up (ouch)
I can't touch them anymore without pliers, a rag or tools, fears too high
A short or mud can be the prob, bad earths is common, crap in joiner plugs, broken wiring under the car...can be hard to trace.

I had to squash them to oblivion to get them out.
Levered them sideways with a small screwdriver, till they were slim enuff to pull straight out.
I need some l.e.d's up in the tail gate :)
You know you can get l.e.d replacement globes, now, bit dear, but more water resistant.
