Don't think not having any exhaust will hurt. On my old Laser 4WD turbo I drove it around with no system whatsoever (from the turbo exhaust housing!)
It made some awesome noises when floored and scared the crap out of some pedestrians!

BJ drove around for months with just 6" of 3" pipe sticking out of the turbo
after we did the sliders for his POS
2 1/2 or 2 3/4 mandrel bent would be the go. Much better flow from mandrel bent compared to standard exhaust shop bends.

I think you should go with a straight through exhaust with no muffler what so ever. As for size just with what ever size the outlet from the turbo is, if its 2 3/4 then run that if its only 2 1/2 then just run that size. Doing this will also give it an orsome whistle 8)

With a turbo bigger is better- the more pressure drop you can get across the exhaust wheel, the more boost you'll have!
Turbos also muffle the engine exhaust noise so you may be able to get away with no muffler, particularly if you've got a cat in the system.

I agree with murcod..
a lot of R&D are put into those aftermarket jap exhausts that they bolt onto their skylines..
main reasons are:
- to eliminate most of the back pressure in the system (better spool up time)
- more hp!
and one thing you notice when you see one of those jap exhausts, is they are BIG and very straight, not too many bends, and when there is a bend.. its a mendrel bend
I wouldn't settle for anything less than 3" after owning a turbo car prior to owning my bundy.
