OK,
What is the best suspention set up for a hilux (89 dual cab 22r) as a daily driver and weekend tourer. i am looking at the tough dog kit with the 9 stage adjustable gas shocks, new leaves, u bolts, shackles, bushes and RTC steering dampener. My question is is there a better opption or better brand for the $$$$$$.
Cheers sass

I am not sure on the $'s of the tough dog kit but I would garantee I could setup a Rear Up Front / IFS Rears setup for less than that and will make a hilux ride like a sedan

With the above you would have to add cross over steering which is a must on a hilux IMO

Adjustable shocks. Wank factor imo. Especially when leaf sprung.
New u bolts why?
Shackles again why? If your talking greasable ones still a waste imo.
RTC steering dampener again why got one waste of money just made steering harder.
OME kit works well. Only need one new U bolt here.
No nothing of the tough dog kit.
New springs bushes and shocks (if needed). Do you still run the standard
toyota jobs?

Agreed on the RTC.
It just made the steering feel harder on my IFS.
I was just thinking the other day that the steering in my lux had got a bit better the other day. When I looked under the front the spring had snapped in half on the RTC dampner

The truck has a 2 inch ome kit on it now (on there when i bought it) but it has sagged over the years so the back now sits lower then the front.
I want to replace the whole suspension in one hit for piece of mind and comfort.
I want new greasable shakles and pins because the ones i have are not greaseable and new bushes because the ome ones have died and have a lot of slop in them. Whats wrong adjustable shocks? Yes you have to get out to adjust them but so what!!! Dont you have to get out to let down your tyres and lock your hubs? Why not spend the little bit extra for comfort? As for new u bolts, every suspension shop i talk to have recomended it and if that is there field of experties im sure they know what there on about. How come your steering is heavier with a RTC dampener? I was under the impression that i was basically a normal dampener with a push pull spring to assist in "returning to center".
Any one else had this problem?

Few quick dollars here.

Think about it. a spring in a dampener on the steering??
Just my experience.
You obviously want it so go get it. Just trying you save you a few bucks.
