i can get 14. something l per hundred on the open road but if i hammer it its blown out to 20litres per hundred but i also run 4.88 ratios so it revs a bit more than standard.

TD42 FUEL CONSUMPTION

I HAVE A "00" GU TD42T DX UTE WITH THE FACTORY LONG RANGE TANK ( 175L TOTAL CAPACITY ) AND I GET 6.5km/L OR 15.2L per 100km. THIS IS MOSTLY TOWN DRIVING WITH SOME SHORT TRIPS THROWN IN. IT REALLY DOSEN'T SEEM TO MAKE A LOT OF DIFFERENCE ON TRIPS, TOWING A BOAT OR LOADED FOR CAMPING ( MIGHT GET AN EXTRA 150 km RANGE WITH A COUPLE OF 400km ROUND TRIPS THROWN IN ). I AM YET TO DO A DECENT LONG RANGE TRIP TO FIND OUT IF CONSUMPTION COMES DOWN ANY MORE. THE km's YOU ARE LOOKING AT DRIVING WON'T BE AN ISSUE AND YOU'LL BE ABLE TO EXTEND YOUR OIL SERVICE INTERVALS TO 10,000 km AS YOU WILL BE RACKING UP THE km's QUICKLY. THE ONLY OTHER THING I CAN SUGGEST IS TO HAVE YOUR INJECTORS SERVICED REGULARLY AS THEY ARE A FAILY POOR DESIGN AND SEEM TO BECOME EASILY RESTRICTED. IT IS AMAZING THE DIFFERENCE AN INJECTOR SERVICE MAKES TO THE OVERALL PERFORMACE. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR PURCHASE.

Hi,

Pretty much same as above, over 100kph it's high. Over Easter travelled approx 600k's on 90l with about a ton on the back at around 90kph. Sounds slow and it felt it but that's about 18mpg in old figures so was very happy with that. It also included some very soft sand.
