Hi Guys - Just started having this problem........

Driving up hills on the road and in 3rd minimally but mainly in 4th and 5th the clutch is slipping big itme. Is it worn/busted or needs adjustment if possible?? What is the cheapest and best remedy? i have no idea about clutches.

I thought if it was worn it would slip in 1st first ie going off from lights etc but it doesn't seem to miss a beat! This is what happened to a past car when the clutch was buggered.

Whats going on?? :? :?

You cant adjust a hilux clutch. If its slipping in higher gears and not lower gears then the clutch has numbered days. Time for a change!

PS. A clutch will always slip in higher gears because of the lesser torque reduction avaliable in higher gears.

My clutch left me stranded 100k's from home after a day of dragging other bastards out of the mud! :x
After it started slipping in high gears it lasted about 5minutes.
I suggest you replace it ASAP.

Yes you can adjust a Hilux clutch. The adjustment is made at the peddle.

But sorry Benhl, doesn't sound like it'll help your case, it sounds stuffed!! ;) ;)

That doesn't adjust the clutch, it adjusts your pedal height, so ur wrong. :finger:

Cheap and 4x4 clutch replacement only happens one way, do it yourself.
