325/85/16 on a 8in rim?
will these tyres fit on a 8in rim or sould they go on a 10 ?
as they are only a 13" wide tyre, i would have full confidence in putting them on 8" rims.
37" x terrains work well on 8" rims, and they are wider and shorter
my 38.5 TSL SX were on 8" rims, they wer 14.5 wide.

You could put them on an 8" rim but I definately wouldn't. The tyre is closer to 13.5" wide.
Tyre manufacturers recommend rim widths for a reason... their tyres perform better and last longer and have less structural problems within these guidelines. When a tyre is put on a rim that is far too narrow for it, there are repercussions long term.
With a Radial Tyre the Steel belts are pulled into a concave curve, giving the tyre a higher crown radius (causing rapid centre wear and decreased handling), more chance of belt edge seperation (As the belts try to flatten themselves out and pull in the opposite direction to the rubber, eventually tearing it) and a lot more uneven wear.
Ideally to maximise sidewall strength the shoulder of the tyre should sit as close to perpendicular to the bead as possible. Obviously for offroad use this isn't always the best option as there is more chance of damaging a rim.
With the deflation of tyres, the sidewall is going to be angled across the lip of the rim fairly firmly which can cause lower sidewall damage.
Not so bad for a Bias tyre....but for a Radial I wouldn't tempt fate by running these tyres on an 8"rim.
Each to there own though.

I say go with an 8" rim
they are approved for a 9" rim and max speed of 100km/h but 150km/h will be safe

ow and the q about the beads holding they do hold better but in such a tall tyre its not as beneficial

they bagged REAL well on the 10's, and looked much better. They even had a more chunky look to them. Maybe 9's would be the go...
I suffer from crap in the beads lots now with the 8's and 12psi, so :(

Gotta see if I can get some first. Evan worn 2ndhand ones should be good. To bad I dont need old unimog tyres. I did know where was alot of almost new ones. Guess they where just going to an auction some where.

dont know wat made you think thatyou will loose the bead alot easier, it might not completely pop but alot more mud and junk wil get in there..... unless you never drop the tyres below 18psi DONT GO 10" rims with your JT2s.

You can with the Pedes and you can with the JT2s aswell but the bead gets very weak when you run low pressures, I personally would never run JT2s on a 10" rim, the larger 36x12.5 Extreme Trekers I would but i prefer to have them on an 8" rim..... wierd maybe i am just a fan of 8" rims
