Thanks Tidy 42....
It sounds about right.... the lux's have a tendancy to rust....
Like I wouldn't mind knowing if one was better than the other.... why did you go the safarie.........

Airtech's look S**T!!!
I got a Safari mainly because of looks... They all do the same thing and there's not a great deal between the different brands apart from their looks and price. If people don't care about looks... they go to bunnings, buy about two metres of pvc pipe and a couple of angles... and there you have it - A SNORKEL!
You can get good enough prices on them... just make sure you shop around!

lol... thanks luxbloke...So Safari it is.....
Oh! seen the PVC... line... not really showing good fashion sense...I'm thinking....
I'm on my way.... hay I'll be looking for the bullbar next...that's going to be interesting...
I see you got the standard....
I'm looking at the moulded plastic one's.... been told that the less weight is easier on the vehical etc....

I've been told that different brands of snorkels have diffreent noise levels? Some are a lot louder than others if noise levels worry you...
http://www.4wdsystems.com.au has safari snorkels for $289 - I think thats pretty cheap...

Nah I’ve got a TJM winch bar...
I'm not too sure about those moulded plastic ones - I don't know anyone with one but I’ve heard there not the best, more for looks than bulls... I Wouldn't worry about it being easier on the vehicle, if your going to get serious later on and possibly get a winch - I wouldn't want to be relying on a plastic bar to hold a 10000bls winch under tension...
But again, I’d just do your homework, maybe post another thread about them... I'm sure you'll get some of the comical genius's from OL to have a say about them

About the plastic bullbars...
Robbo from here had one on his GU for years and did heaps of comps in it
You cant fit a winch to them. I beleive they are looking at making steel frames the would connect the winch to the chassis and the moulded bar around them
