ive heard so many mixed reports on the cooper tyre not this one specificly farther inlaws mate had a 140000 km with out a wheel align done then others had done 20000 km and a are chopped out

there ply rating is not in the sidewall its radial

youre ment to have a wheel align every so many km's to keep there warranty

so from what ive seen n heard, i never went near em maybe others have better luck

i have heard some very good feedback on these tyres for both on and off road... km's wise its hard to say as they are only a recent additon to the market but performance a1 for what they designed for........

ask ryano from fourby's how his customers have been finding them.....

As an aside, I ran the old STTs on my previous 3L TD Surf in a 33 with a 4" lift and found them fine. Ended up getting 70,000 out of them, still roadworthy when I swapped them.

The STT WAS the only Cooper that did not get the 80,000km warranty (with conditions like regular alignment and balance) but they may now be including them in that. Check that fact out...

I got a good look over these just prior to there official release toi the dealer network, they look good, and from the video of them on the US test track they apear to work ok, at this stage no one will be able to give much more than how thay handle as they are no where near old enough to be able to compare wear.

The mileage on the new STT should be as good as if not better than the old STT. You should be looking at getting as many kms out of the new STT as an AT on the bitumen. It's all relative to how much off road work you do.
They were tested on an across OZ trip last year and wore unbelievably well. Ride is very good and on road handling is impressive for such an offroad orientated tyre.

They're on!

First impression, (driving around town at 60km/h on a windy afternoon with the windows down  ) they're quieter than the MT/Rs they replaced. I struggle to hear them over the exhaust, and I don't consider my exhaust loud.

I should be able to hit 100 on the way home.

:D

Wound it up to 100 on the way home. I could hear them, but I didn't need to turn the stereo up, so I figure the noise isn't too bad. It's still no worse than the exhaust noise, and I have to listen for it rather than automatically noticing it - it's not obtrusive.

So far, so good. Now I've gotta get them dirty. :D

I've been looking at these or X-terrains as a replacement to the muddies. I got quoted $310 each for 35/12.5/15's, semi hijack but what did you pay NJ SWB or others?

Coopers claim the compound is more chip resistant, it's an evolution of the ST-C chip/cut resistant compound. Only time will tell.
